Visiting Grandma Sue & Grandpa Wally

After all our July 4th fun & a long night of neighborhood kids setting off fireworks over our house, I put the two girls in the car and drove to Ohio to visit Grandma Sue and Grandpa Wally. I learned that having another adult in the car is key, so you don't have to pull over for every little thing. Nick was sorely missed. It wasn't our best drive, but we made it.

Mia's first meal at MacDonald's... Not the highlight I thought it was going to be.

Once we got the driving out of the way, there was a ton of fun awaiting us. Mia loved performing puppet shows with Grandma Sue...

Recreating the 4th of July parade in her one-man-band kinda way...

Playing and singing duets with Grandma Sue on the piano...

Visiting the Shaker Lakes...

And the highlight, visiting the Natural History Museum. Mia is obsessed with dinosaurs and animals, so it was very exciting stuff.

The Stegosaurus was her favorite.

It was my favorite as a kid too because you could climb from tail to head between all the armored plates. This was as high as I would let Mia get this time. Maybe next year she can do it on her own.

Macy just chilled and took it all in from the stroller.

Other highlights of the trip were "driving" Grandpa Wally's riding lawnmower...

Being treated to Coldstone ice cream, both hers and everyone else's...

Hiking and playing on the playground at the park...

And visiting our friends, the Beckers.

A trip to Handel's Ice Cream was the cherry on top. We had such a great time!
