Last Days in Virginia

As part of our transitional fun, Nick had to stay and work in DC a bit longer & we were lucky enough to have family who could tolerate us living with them for a little while in between. Living out of suitcases and Nick's longer commute wasn't all that great, but Mike & Mary's hospitality combined with the chance to have a little more time with friends and family before we left Virginia made June a great month. We filled it with play dates, dinners, and lunches with people we will miss so much! It made the transition a little easier to know that once we left our place, we would be in northern VA just a little bit longer. I wish we had pictures of all the buddies we were able to play with one last time, but here are some of the highlights that we did document:

Fort Scott Park with friends

The pool with our favorite neighbors

Sharing secrets and bonding over books with the Selden cousins

Visiting my 4th graders (now almost 6th graders!) from last year (my pregnancy year) just before school let out. Mia was is heaven with so much attention from all the kids & my students loved seeing how much she had grown since our last visit. She had a great time at Kent Gardens!

Visiting the Blairs

This is "little Lane". He was in diapers when we first became buddies. All the kids are so grown up now!

Gelato with Stacey

And, of course, some good quality time with Aunt Mary & Uncle Mike. It is going to be tough to beat them out for favorite aunt & uncle status at this point.

(Jumping for joy with the water within reach)

It was a busy month at work for Nick, but June treated us well. All in all, a great way to go out!
